riverview housing

With Loki's help, Hiccup moved out of the communal housing to a much more dragon-friendly, lofted cabin slightly out of the bustle of the city. Designed with an open floor plan, the cabin is rustic, but spacious, with modern appliances downstairs. Upstairs, the second floor is completely open, with a wide balcony attached outside, reinforced for dragon weight, and a modified door to let dragons in and out.
Downstairs is an open living and dining room with fireplace, a full bathroom with a deep, claw-foot tub, and a master bedroom currently being used as an office, scattered with some leatherworking tools, and covered in tacked up sketches of maps and creatures within the Quarantine. There are cozy fur rugs covering the floor in the living room, between a couple of squishy couches, a coffee table adorned with his Maces and Talons set, and a television. The dining area is in front of some wide, open windows to let in the light, and the small table only has two chairs at it. The kitchen is only sectioned off by countertops from the main living/dining room and has the usual modern amenities. Glass sliding doors lead to a patio just off the kitchen, which has a stone fire pit, a couple of chairs, and a couple of chest freezers set to a refrigeration temperature - full of whole fish to feed a dragon.

Upstairs in the open loft, Hiccup has set up his bed, night table, a couple of lamps, and an L-shaped desk covered in drawings, maps, and tinkerings. There is also a second-hand couch, and a big, flat piece of stone in the corner for Toothless to sleep on.
Outside the cabin comes with two patios, one open off the kitchen, and one beneath the second-floor balcony/landing strip suitable for sitting outside when the weather is bad.
It's pretty simply furnished with some basic pieces, think bachelor pad stuff from second-hand stores, with a lot of storage options, and most surfaces are slowly accumulating typical Hiccup clutter. It's very much a mixture of a modern idea of 'rustic' and Viking sensibilities, with some external modifications to make it suitable for a dragon or two.
